Shenzhen's skyline is a bit scattered, although the Futian region will emerge as a big skyscraper zone as new buildings finish.

Mumbai has many tall buildings but they look a little tired and not well-maintained. But with the speed of its development, I'm sure it will emerge as the next Asian skyscrapercity soon

The skyline north of the border is impressive. They have their supertall and other scrapers sprouting up

Is Mumbai's historic core protected from supertalls to preserve the architecture? Nariman Point is right in the middle of that, and it doesn't look like they'll have a huge glassy skyscraper rising out of there any time soon. The buildings are still mostly concrete 60s-style architecture.

Bangkok has a lot more new highrises and highrises in general than Mumbai. Mumbai seems to be stuck in time from a few decades ago. Quite an interesting place indeed.

Bangkok is a couple decades more developed than Mumbai, skyline wise. However, Mumbai's skyline will undergo a sea change in the next 5-8 years, with huge CBDs slated to begin construction later this and next years. Already, the skyline is quickly begining to take shape.

none of any of that (buildings over 15 stories) was there 2 years ago. All the old buildings in the foreground of the third pic are to be redeveloped into skyscrapers this year. The art-deco buildings and the historic district you can see a part of in the first picture are to be all restored, and major beautification projects will soon commence in both areas in those pics. Check out this rendering rundown list of buildings planned and u/c. Most of these projects have only just broke ground, so you wouldn't be able to pick em out in the pics above.

Right now, Mumbai's skyline is ok. Maybe a 6/10. However, with the sheer number of projects under construction, planned, and with a totally exapanded and redeveloped infra system (air, rail, metro and highways) also under construction that will be used to support further skyscraperization, Mumbai in the next ten years will transform spectacularly for the better (for us skyscraper enthusiasts especially)

Cheers,
Jai

Good thing that the new skyscrapers will be in midtown, while the historic core will be restored and not torn down. There are a lot of nice buildings with a mix of local and European styles.
