"I know someday will object to this as either silly or impractical, but I think that Gardiner Expressway should be removed at least in downtown Toronto."

Well, that's hardly an unusuall idea...the city and everybody else has been pondering that for quite some time. i only wish they were pondering it when that asswipe Fred Gardiner was dreaming it up...so much easier to have cancelled that bad idea in the 50's, rather than now. And as a resident of South Parkdale, I would definetely appreciate it.

But, I guess there's no crying about the past (lets anyway...ok? ).

"Instead they should have a waterfront subway or light rail line and replace the highway with a park."

Well, we already have a waterfront LRT line.

And rather than replacing the Gardiner with a park...it would be better to replace the Gardiner with just more gridded "city", and move the Gardiner/Lakeshore to the actual waterfront.....under it that is...and having a linear park as it's roof.

Not my idea of course...this very idea was seriously sold to the city...and turned down. The kicker is....it would have cost the city nothing. Well, not nothing...the city would have to take care of actually removing the present Gardiner...and give the land to the developer that would have already built the new underwater highway at it's own expense.....another major advantage...not having to close the present Gardiner until the new one was ready.

Woah. Not sure what to think about that design. Never seen anything like that but looks somewhat like the side profile view of the Ritz.

Wow, I haven't seen renderings of the Planetarium condo. It's a shame there isn't a planetarium in the city anymore (there's one in Newmarket or something, right?). I think the Crystal will look really great, but I'm not sure about the condo. We'll see. There are so many luxury projects going up right now, I don't think they'll all get done.

Now that is a cool tower. I really like a lot of the buildings coming out of Toronto now.

That building is only a rendering, it was made by someone on another thread. It's not being built in Toronto. There is a proposal to build a 40 story building at that site but absolutely no drawings for it yet.

Sorry for being a downer because that is a beautiful building, but wanted to clear things up.

Very cool renderings, I can't wait to see what they look like after they are built.
