Last time: Grandmother's funeral in 1999, followed by Grandfather's funeral in 2001.

Plan to visit again: I was closest with my Grandparent's and although I have other relatives there, I'm not that close to them. I'll probably come up for a wedding soon, and I'll get away for a few hours and take a rush tour of the waterfront, which I think has changed the most.

dr.joe

that application for the +500 footer, actually looks pretty damned good- i like the idea of it cantilevering out over the other building-

just to add my two cents to this discussion..I honestly don't think it really makes a difference what kind of development is predominent, whether its office construction or residential- they both come in phases- we are not new york city or chicago and do not have the demand for both types of development simultaneously.

I would have to agree that, residential developments are a positive sign of life for a city-developments such as cityplace, however good in their intentions, will probably end up like towers in the park, unless more attention is paid to more integration of their projects-

its not residential..? its an office building!

the residential development sector in toronto, is still learning how to use design as an advantage, rather than a disadvantage. In most cases, European developers- and probably UK developers are put under a lot of scrutiny when proposing a building- in a lot of cases, buildings are erected in Toronto, with little opposition or control from the city. Yet, this is getting better and the city is slowly starting to put its foot down- or so i have been told!

It would be great to see more dynamic tall office towers downtown. That said, I prefer residential highrises if they are the same height. Office towers look great but it is residential population and density that makes a dynamic city. Atlanta and Dallas are examples of skylines with no people.

great list of projects. ssiguy2, intown Atlanta is now the fastest growing sector of the metro area. Thousands of new condos are under construction downtown alone.

And I'm sure that you have visited Atlanta and seen this? Or are you just using a very old and outdated cliche?

Travis007,

You mentioned "Tip Top II( 37 st.)" ... Unfortunately due to the planning dept refusal to grant anything even close to that height I have heard that Tip Top II isn't going to happen - another developer is investigating the possibillity of constructing much shorter mid rise structures in that location.
