Nice pictures of Koln. Was there last year; one of the uglist cities I've ever seen (apart from the Cathedral which is amazing except for the new stained glass)

of course the city is one of the most ugliest in germany, but hell, 90% of it was destroyed during wwII so what did you expect????? the former glory of 2000 years of history???? not really!!!

Great picture from Cologne! This city really needs some good reconstruction, especially the area around the Saint Severin, Saint George and the Dom!

In Aachen I had to shed some tears, I don't even dare to think of Cologne today. A few colored photos: http://www.express.de/koeln,2856,749176.html

Frankfurt am Main, Koln and Dresden must have been the greatest cities lost in Germany during WWII.

Frankfurt am Main

Koln

Dresden

Maybe we should create a thread about the greatest cities lost during WWII? (Dresden, Berlin, Warsaw, Munich, Frankfurt am Main, Koln, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Le Havre, Nanjing, Manila, Hiroshima, Cobe, Caen, Breslau, Danzig/Gdansk, Kiev, Coventry, Konigsberg etc.)

Frankfurt had that lovely medieval charm about it back in the day. I always harp on about the Salzhaus whenever pictures get posted but that needs a reconstruction badly.

They sure made a hash of Frankfurts reconstruction, thats for sure.

Amazing. If not only the war, but it's your own fault though.
