That last photo of Würzburg and the bridge looks so reminiscent of Prague! Just think that had the city not been destroyed, or rather, been properly rebuilt, it could be a tourist Mecca today like Prague, boosting the local economy and, to say the least, local bragging rights! haha

Compared to other cities, Würzburg was rebuilded quite properly.

Also, I have deleted quite a few off topic political comments and remember guys, this is basically a photo thread and therefore please don't discuss anything other than the photos itself, thanks!

They saved the main monuments and ruined the rest. As proper as it gets in Western Germany

[QUOTE=Sandstein;100422254]Compared to other cities, Würzburg was rebuilded quite properly.

Thanks for the correction! I was not aware the bridge with the statues and whatnot were still there which is awesome. However it does look like a lot of the in-fill structures were done in a very simplified, some-what boring aesthetic. Its good thought to see many of the key buildings still in tact!

Very nice photos, thanks for sharing.

But please provide a source link. Even though these photos are really old, you never know for sure...
