Funny how nationalism leads to inventing information.

That would be either German or Russian nationalism, though (which is what I've actually suspected Mruczek for! ... just joking!).

Because Poles have no reason to underestimate the level of destruction inflicted by the Soviets/Allies/defending Germans upon those cities.

Well, I'm not sure who is right - either Mruczek or you. I'm not sure what exactly do these percentages refer to, but I'll try to find out.

The point is that actually noone had the reason.

All the cities destroyed, be it in UK, France, Germany, Poland, USSR (and for whatever reason and whatever scope) had all the reasons to rather overestimate the level of destruction, because it was one more argument for getting more support from state budget, fighting for more financial means for emergency housing, argument for governments to claim more from war reparations and/or United Nations* UNRRA program for rebuilding.

The other thing is that most of these post-war assessments were actually quite accurate. I wasn't defying you with your numbers and values, I'm merely pointing out that they usually are of higher (and more scary) value than simple total amount of Gruenderzeit buildings lost.

I don't know the total numbers, but if I had to bet my life on it I'd say German cities (over 200 thousand of inhabitants) overall lost during the war approx. 1/3 to 1/2 of their housing from before 1914 and probably less than 1/4 of Bauhaus and 1930s Heimatstil.

* well, let's call spade a spade. In 99% it was program of United States of America, who else could afford to pay for it?

Georgenbau und Schloss sahen vor dem Neorenaissance-Umbau schon ziemlich abgelutscht aus.
