Excellent photos
Excellent photos of Nagpur. The roads are so nice ... wide, treelined, and well maintained (by indian standards).
Its sad that Pune and Mumbai being in the same state can't come close to the quality of roads that Nagpur has.. One thing that I always felt about Nagpur (My dad is from yavatmal, I'm born and brought up in Pune) is that although Nagpur is in the same state, it feels so far. I know it is far ... atleast 15-16 hrs from Pune, but somehow it just doesn't feel that Pune and Mumbai are well connected to Nagpur even though all are big cities with a lot of synergies. What do others feel ? Last edited by akkiman; October 9th, 2007 at 09:02 PM. |

Akkiman, there are many trains, buses from Nagpur to Pune and Mumbai. There are also many flights from Nagpur to Mumbai everyday (2 indian airlines, 2 jet airways, 2 kingfisher, 1 air india express, 1 air deccan, 1 indigo). Indigo has started a Nagpur-Pune flight too.
But I think they should build a expressway between Nagpur-Pune. Quote:

Right, there are a lot of flights connecting the 2 destinations, but I feel there is still some room for improvement (such as an expressway as you suggested, high-speed rail corridor) and overall more economic co-ordination between these 3 cities.

Green Park is in Kanpur. That's VCA[Vidharba Cricket Association Ground]. Mohali(Chandigarh) also has an awesome lush green outfield.

Indiansunite; nice pics. The new VCA ground thats coming up is going to be far better than this and much better equipped. Its designed by Shapporji Pallonji and should be ready in a few months.
