The north facade of the north tower is about 60-70% painted - looks good but perhaps easier to see brightness of the white color in the sunlight...

They've painted the entire west face of the north tower and are starting on the south face. They had tested a few more colors lately on the west face and chose the greyest of the lot -- thank goodness! I was afraid they'd pick another shade of beige -- just what Streeterville doesn't need!

Anyway, I think it will look good -- if the sun ever comes out again I'll try to get a picture to post.

Dunham Building is gone!

All but the last bits of the Dunham Building are gone.

I'm assuming 600 North LSD will finish the pre-cast cladding of the parking podium, but it will still look, well..., like a parking podium.

Hopefully Northwestern Memorial will put something interesting on the Dunham/MRI building lot.

could someone - chiman...? wrabbit...? hydro...? retro...? - please take some more pics of these two buildings? it is funny that the museum park tower and these two all came from p/h. i wouldn'tve pegged that in a million years.

Not much new to show until they get rid of the construction elevator on the south tower -- but you can start to see how much better the north tower looks without the elevator and plywood -- it still needs paint to highlight the horizontal lines.

These really turned out pretty decent, plus anything that diminishes the presence of that awful W Hotel is good in my book.

thanks bro.

it is unfortunate, but they paint them because of the cracking that comes along with doing a concrete building. the cost of sealing and resealing concrete every couple seasons in this climate vs. painting a building every 5 to10 years adds up to some real $$$....money that most developers don't like to pay to condo associations when they get sued after a couple of years because the building starts to "fall apart"...!!!

i do give the architect credit for picking a color that looks a lot like natural concrete.

Here's a different point of view -- from a photo MLS listing for a unit in 512 McClurg.
