The Royal Albert Hall, because as a monument it is impressive, but as a building that brings happiness to alot of people it is amazing.

I've never been, so I can't really comment on that one. But I heard there had been a big refit recently and it was alot better.

Like I say I'm on very thin ice on this one as I've never been - I'm just going on what I've seen on the tele and in pictures.

A UK Building Competition...

Judges said the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay already had iconic status

On the seafront in Westward Ho! in Devon, Nautilus Apartments is a development of 28 flats. Guy Greenfield's design is based on a seashell.

The Sage Gateshead is the latest part of a regeneration jigsaw which has seen the banks of the Tyne transformed in recent years. RIBA said the arts centre was an important building which may gain historical significance in the future

A light-filled orientation space is at the heart of the Brindley Arts Centre in Runcorn, Cheshire. The jury said the building generates a surprising sense of spaciousness

Agatha Christie was among the original residents at Wells Coates's Isokon building in Belsize Park, London. A major conservation has upgraded the building for 21st Century living. Most residents are now key workers in shared ownership schemes.

Norman Foster's HQ for McLaren in Woking, Surrey accommodates design studios, research areas and production facilities for the company's Formula One cars. A concealed visitor centre is located in a separate building.

The Classroom of the Future is for special needs pupils at Mossbrook School, Sheffield. Architect Sarah Wigglesworth has included a series of interactive elements, such the use of webcams on a nature reserve linked to plasma screens

The Orangery at Great Ormond Street Hospital comprises a boiler house roof, flanked on one side by a coffee shop and on the other by the staff canteen. The brief was to provide an area that would be different from a "normal" hospital.

The Scottish Parliament was the costliest project selected by RIBA. The jury said the ability of both the design and construction teams to realise a building of this complexity was "truly remarkable".
