Same thing with all the highrises in Edgewater and along the lake front in north and south Chicago. Hardly anybody takes them into account when looking at the CBD skyline.

For real scrapers (300-400ft or above) that will likely make up a CBD Toronto is pretty on par with similar size city's in NA like Houston and Philly. The only differance is Toronto has a thousand 10-30 floor highrises miles from downtown. That is great for urbanity and sprawl limitation but doesn't effect the skyline much.
Thats pretty much what I was saying. I'm not sure why you're repeating it. Re-read my posts.

2. Chicago
3a. Toronto
3b. Los Angeles (I think that it doesnt get enough credit. With the mountains in the background, it is just spectacular, but we aren't judging the scenery)
4. Seattle
5. San Fransicso
6. Calgary
7. Minneapolis
8. Vancouver (the mountains, again help)

I am a very big fan of mountains, especially in the background of a skyline, as you could probably tell by my list.
Then you'll definitely like HK's skyline

Anyway, off topic and it may sound crazy, but does Chicago get the same tribute as this

Well, every city pays tribute to Chicago if it has a skyscraper, now doesn't it?

It wouldn't be as good, but it would still be amazing.. and that's sort of a silly question, because Toronto does have the CN tower

anyways, i was curious, so I took a couple of the T.O. images from page 4 and removed the CN tower.. I still think the skyline looks great!

Here's my list
1. NYC - for its obsene size and great skyline
2. Chicago - birthplace of the skyscraper, amazing skyline
3. Toronto - Amazing and way underrated skyline, since most photos only show the waterfront, which hides its true size

Toronto without the CN Tower kinda reminds me of Miami

A little off topic, has anyone watched Short Circuit 2 or The Police Academy movies? They were mostly shot in Toronto mistaking it for a US city! Ironically in Short Circuit 2, there was a scene where they take their oath for US citizenship, on Canadian soil!

By the way, will there be a future tallest for Toronto? No offense but the tallest building in your city doesn't do justice!

Dude, there have been many movies (and TV shows) shot in TO passing it off as another city. I think there's a list somewhere, I won't post it cause it's off-topic.

Usually shots and scenes avoid the CN Tower, but there's one recent sci-fi movie (can't remember its name) where they remove it entirely.

I was thinking the same thing. From the phtos I have to admitt I like the Toronto skyline better without the CN Tower. It gives the illusion of more height to the rest of the skyline.

Just to clear up something for everyone, it is not CNN Tower, but CN
Tower (Canada's National Tower). It was originally called CN Tower
because of the name of the owners (Canadian National Railway), and
was completed four years before CNN was started.
I was actually asked once by a British tourist if the second "N" on the
building signage fell off.. LOL!
I'm of the camp that prefers the CN Tower in the skyline... not only
is it distinctive, but it gives a pleasing assymmetry.
Often in study of pure design, or art, it is pointed out that assymmetry
is more dynamic and interesting than rigid symmetry.

Naturally you had to go with CIUDAD DE PANAMA. And, with any luck,
someone will post "But Panama is not in North America", and you can
give us our 10,000,000th geography lecture that it is.

The only group of people that would deny that Panama is not in North America are those that believe in ethnocentrist polls. Their loss. I just think Panama is the sleekest of them all.

Who is denying that Panama is in North America?
Some people, like yourself, seem to be obsessed with
dragging that geographical tidbit into as many North
American threads as possible, even when it is completely
inappropriate.

Umm, Panama City is in Central America, and that's just the way it is.

Panama is in Central America but officialy, it is part of the North American continent.

Panama has a very impressive skyline mostly residential but it's can't match New York or Chicago!
