I was speaking in response to its rating above skylines who have a greater presence.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles

yes, it has a skyline and yes, it has tall buildings. But there are much better skylines, and though it is a great city, most people do not regard LA as having one of the best skylines. Especially for a city its size. That does not mean it does't have quality buildings!

Okay, I've deleted some obvious trolling. Anyone who carries it on gets an automatic infraction. These are friendly forums, so let's all act mature, please.
We are all entitled to our opinions, but let's keep it polite and constructive, and steer away from childish rants.
Also, as this particular thread is about skylines, let's try and keep the rating based on those. Thanks!

A difficult name to pronounce, from the Arabic, Wād al-ḥaŷara (واد الحجرة o وادي الحجرة).

Minneapolis has not the biggest but certainly one of the most aesthetically pleasing skylines around.

I agree. For such an iconic city you'd think LA's skyline would be bigger and better. It's impressive enough ,especially with the mountain backdrop, but this is America's 2nd city we're talking about here.

In this regard, I think both the Los Angeles skyline and the Houston skyline have suffered the same fate. Both cities are huge in land area and so there has been less of a need to go up. Also, by the same token, not all of their tall buildings are in the CBD. They are scattered throughout the large land area of the two cities. That's just the nature of the beast for these two cities.

Houston skyline is the most underrated skyline in north america. I would put it in the top ten may be even top 5 easily.

I never know quite where to put Houston. It's got height, but there are smaller skylines that I prefer like Minneapolis.

Hong Kong has the #1 skyline in North America? Well I've heard of plate tectonics, but I always got the impression that it was a bit more gradual...
