Yes, I wish we could count those buildings as part of Miami's tally, but they are their own separate skyline in an independent separate city from Miami.

Definitely the two best skylines ever.
Toronto and Miami still have a long way to go, to come in the near.

Early 2014 rankings:
1. NYC
2. Chicago
3. Toronto
.....
......
.....
......
4. LA
5. Philly
6. Atlanta
7. Houston
8. Boston
9. Seattle
10. San Francisco
11. Panama City
12. Dallas
13. Miami
14. Montreal
15. Calgary
16. Pittsburgh
17. Mexico City
18. Minneapolis
19. Vancouver
20. Detroit
21. Charlotte
22. Denver
23. Cleveland

Obviously there is a lot of separation between the top 3 and the rest of the crowd.

Before you complain that City X has more skyscrapers than City Y and therefore should be higher, I also consider overall height, depth, density/proximity, QUALITY (especially at the top), and layout.

I'm not a big fan of the Vancouver skyline, but still wondering what your rationale was for ranking it so low. Height is the only thing on your list it doesn't have. For the most part, a good list although QuantumX is going to be very upset with you.

I'm ignoring his list. I've come to expect things like this!

There are some other factors I forgot to mention off the top of my head. I definitely like variety in heights, designs, materials, etc. I guess it's a downside of some cities that are growing very quickly, that too many buildings often look like the came from the same family tree. "Dare to be different!"

The only iffy-ish one above Vancouver is Mexico City, which would not have been on this list at all at this time last year. However, it's new-found (though incomplete) monolithic structures are really starting to make the skyline pop. I feel ok with that in the 17 to 19 spot.

I think Vancouver has a very nice skyline. I have admittedly not seen it in person yet either, so I can only judge on pictures and statistics (mostly by examining the diagrams for various cities on skyscraperpage. Try typing in multiple cities to compare drawings that are relatively to scale). However, I think there are a lot of good skylines in North America, and head-to-head I can see substantial enough reasons to rank 18 cities ahead of it (although Vancouver certainly has itself a game rebuttal, in the end it comes up just a little bit short). Yes, the lack of height hurts it a lot. Just as much though, is directly related to the negative connotations of the term "Vancouverization". I take it to mean a high volume of moderately cheap-looking, cookie cutter glass towers, too many which seem to have the exact same claddings and makes the area look like a wall of sameness.

But that is not to take anything away from the rest of the skylines. Each city has its own merits, at least in my mind, for being where it's ranked.

Your top 3 are accurate but the rest seem to be a bit out of order, here's a little help with your US cities

What he said! Except that I would have to place Panama City ahead of Miami on any list that includes it.
