No, he's got it right. That's the Skylon Tower. You can see some of the mist of the falls too.

While I've criticized Montreal's skyline for being stuck in the late 20th century, I like how it gives off a big/dense/old eastern city vibe like Philly or Boston. May not be as big as Toronto or Vancouver but while those cities still feel very new, which is great, they don't look as 'established' as Montreal.

And Niagara Falls doesn't have a lake in front of it.

Montreal oozes east coast establishment and old money.... sort of like Boston. I agree that the skyscraper world seems to have zoomed right on by Montreal, but it's got that certain something that no one can ever take away from it. It may not be tall like Toronto, but it has a fantastic urbanity to it... not to mention buckets of elegance and charm.

I'm heading there in a month and I'm already giddy with excitement. I absolutely adore Montreal.

Yes, Montreal and Boston are basically 2 peas out of the same pod. Bit of a friendly rivalry going, both with sports and here as "competing" skylines. It will be interesting to see which one ends up having the better boom. Montreal is a bit ahead for now, but Boston has 4-5 huge towers coming that I expect will ultimately tip the scales in its favor. (assuming they ARE actually built!) Regardless, I'm glad to see both cities growing again.

Lucky! It's been a solid 5+ years for me. I need to renew my passport so I can get myself back to Canada!

That I really look forward too. I feel privileged to have seen it in person.

I love Montreal too but the skyline is not impressive.
