I think these 2 are pretty good for their size:

Cincinnati and Fort Lauderdale.

Hills and water and skyscrapers - San Francisco
A nice combination but probably not the best in North America ...

I like the SF skyline. The tallest buildings may not reach over 1000 ft but they are some of the most iconic. SF has always been a choice for most Simcity game scenarios

I think Vancouver is more dramatic, since the mountains surrounding the north end of the city are much taller, and some provide good spots for aerial-like photos (ie. Grouse Mountain). San Francisco has a hillier urban setting though.

I like Vancouver's skyline better than Toronto. But I'd have to say Chicago.

1. Chicago

Yes, Vancouver's skyline looks nicer than Toronto's due to geography. That is despite Vancouver not having a major supertall.

Oh my god.......never have I read such a shocking thing. And it is spelled center .

Have you ever been near the Hancock? Stood underneath it? Partied on its 90th floor?

It's the greatest skyscraper ever.

Yes, I read that too. It took all of my power not to cry myself to sleep that night. Hancock is one of the greatest buildings in the country, let alone chicago.

Geographical wise, Vancouver is more dramatic than Toronto. But Toronto has a nice geographical feature as well. At least it has a harbour where you can see the CN Tower and The Financial District

Vancouver also has a lot of waterfront scenes :

From Stanley Park

From False Creek

From Lonsdale Quay

No shortage of water at all. In fact, Vancouver offers much more vantage
points of the different parts of the skyline from waterfronts than Toronto. Only 1 side of Toronto is bound by water (Lake Ontario), whereas water wraps around Vancouver on 3 sides.

Aerial

In fact, water is a standard basis for a city's existence, so it's not exactly a differentiating trait anymore.
