He even had a post that argued that the Greater Golden Horseshoe was an invention that Torontonians have pounced on so that we can pump our chests and proclaim we're on the verge of becoming a mega city. He's obsessed with Canada ....but with the single minded goal of knocking it down a peg or 2.

I've tried many times to have a constructive dialogue with him but he's not interested in the facts. I stopped taking him seriously a long time ago.

Yeah, I know. I've seen a lot of it over the years!

Awesome photo of LA; the skyline has really filled out over the years!

1) If the question is, "Which city has the most skyscrapers, Chicago or New York?" the answer must surely be New York. However; if the question is, "What is your favourite city skyline, New York or Chicago?" then surely the answer can be whichever skyline the person responding prefers. No?

2) Again, biggest is objective, best is subjective.

I live in Mississauga but prefer Calgary's skyline above all other Canadian cities. It's far from the biggest or the tallest. Clearly, Toronto tops the list of Canadian cities if numbers are the only acceptable criteria. Thankfully, on this forum diversity of opinion is acceptable and even encouraged by many.
Just to be clear, Chicago is now and has always been my favourite North American skyline. I know New York has five or six times the number of skyscrapers but Chicago just looks more aesthetically pleasing to me. But that's just my opinion and I'm glad many folks on the forum have different preferences and are able to freely express them as am I.

I hate to go too off topic but this is just wrong. Moscow has a higher population and larger skyline, by any measure.

On this list (world's biggest), Moscow is 21st and London is 60th.
http://tudl0867.home.xs4all.nl/skylines.html

Best is subjective.

To stay on topic, here's one of downtown Atlanta.

The link that you gave doesn't say much. How it is ranked is basically based on the number of tall buildings they have.I wouldn't even say it's the largest skyline because it includes areas outside the city centre. In which world does manila skyline surpass toronto.Or jakarta surpass los angeles.I say this because I've been to Jakarta and Manila.

While Moscow does have a denser cluster of skyscrapers,London beats it in quality. While you're right it is indeed subjective, you can't deny it's an opinion shared by many skyline enthusiasts and even architects.

Beauty of a skyline is entirely subjective and there is no "right" or "wrong". People often forget about that, however this is not a thread about European or Asian skylines, it is a thread about North American skylines. Please let's stay on topic. Thank you
