LOL! I misread it! Wonder what kind of diversity he means, as relates to skylines? I kind of think he probably meant density.

I assumed they meant different morphology in terms of layout and architectural styles, since European cities have everything from Baroque Domes and Gothic or deco spires to modernist and international office towers to "commie block" residential highrises.

The skylines also tend to be arranged in a less predictable way than NA, with NA cities often having a simple condensed cluster of highrises at the centre, and little else in the way of skyline. There are cities like London and Paris that do have such tight clusters, but they aren't always at the very centre (La Defense, Canary Wharf), and aren't the only places with highrises or other landmarks that are prominent in the skyline. A few NA cities can buck this trend too, with multiple clusters and/or highrises scattered across the cityscape and the poster probably wanted a discussion of this.

Wilshire Grand fits the LA skyline nicely, imo.

An interesting angle of lower Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn with New Jersey in the foreground. Taken by our very own Nexis.

Nope, that's about as absurd as saying everyone pays tribute to canada when they buy a phone. These things are simply the progression of technology from the accumulation of scientific knowledge around the world at that point in time.
