Cincinnati really surprised me at street level. I've only seen a few photo threads, but there were so many exquisite buildings. The skyline looks great too. Look at those older beauties. Quality over quantity. Just terrific!

nice shot again!

In another 2 years time, there will be a tower standing beside the Shangri la Hotel and almost as tall.

Houston has the most forgettable skyline of the major cities. Just so unappealing imo.

I like Houston skyline, its probably because of its shinny and glittering skyscrapers.

Vancouver's skyline just doesn't do it for me. The sea of similar looking and similar colored condo towers is not aesthetically pleasing to me. Such a great location but the skyline is dragged down by its abundance of mediocre mid and high-rise condos.

Even I'm a vancouverite, I totally agree with you and I think our skyline is diffinitely overated. If we took the mountains away, it'd be boring as hell, thanks to the retard height restriction policy in our city. We need taller office towers with different clor claddings in order to make the skyline more interesting to look at.

Vancouver was on such a great path architecturally before the glass condo craze hit after Expo 86. That sea of glass mars things for me too. It's almost like Vancouver thought its setting was so beautiful that it didn't have to bother with creating beautiful buildings.

I believe there was a misplaced mentality to erect buildings so forgettable, nondescript, and transparent that they wouldn't compete with the scenery. It's such a shame, because they could have had both.

Aside from New York and Chicago, I really like Seattle, L.A. and Atlanta. As for the smaller cities, Minneapolis was a pleasant surprise to me.

I believe he was talking about Edmonton, but it would also apply to Minneapolis.

They're really puny for metros of 2.1 and 2.8 million respectively, but they have great layering and architecture. Kansas City especially seems to have lots of beautiful old skyscrapers.

Agree. It's surprising given that 100 years ago St. Louis was already quite a large city. Wasn't it one of the 5-6 largest in the US?
