the only problem for me in Tetovo is all the flags everywhere. be it Macedonian or Albanian there are just too many! every single pole in the city has a flag on it...i just don't understand it...and being a country of the balkans i'm sure it isn't the smartest thing to do either.

well man thats something that you need to do when you are living under a different country other than yourself. Nationalism is the only solutions to keep alive the traditions, language, and your own culture. How do you think Albanians resisted 500 years of Turkish occupation without loosing the language or speaking Turkish. How do you think the Albanians in Kosova maintained themselves. It was done through nationalism, and putting flags up on poles is part of that keeping the culture and tradition alive because the new generation needs to grow up the same way. Im not talking about nationalism by killing other people just by being more patriotic than usual.

Skender, Nationalism may be needed to keep ones culture alive in an anglo-saxon country, but not in macedonia. The Albanians in Macedonia are next door to Albania, also there is no chance in hell that an Albanian in Macedonia could ever get assimilated since they are taught in the albanian language in primary school, in secondary school and in university. On top of this they have plenty of albanian TV stations, newspapers, radio stations... they live amongst themselves predominantly hanging around people of their nationality. So the albanians in Macedonia do not need nationalism to keep their culture alive, their culture is so well integrated within the system that they barely ever get the chance to speak macedonian, which is why most of them cant even speak macedonian properly. Everyone knows the truth as to why the Albanian flag is all over Tetovo and other 2001conflict hotspots... Coz many Albanians seem to think that the more Albanian flags there is flying around, the less it will be welcoming for macedonians. These flags are used to say "Stay out, this is Albanian territory". No im not gonna be a racist or nationalist but i speak the truth, ask any albanian in Tetovo why they fly the Albanian flag and they will tell you better than i did.

One more thing Skender, you said that you kept you identity during 500years of turkish occupation. No offence but most of the albanians on the balkans accepted the religion of the ottomans; Islam, i dont consider this a very patriotic move by people you say "kept their culture alive", since religion plays a huge role in culture, or atleast it did back then.

skender, trying to be patriotic in a foreign country=war, or at least fighting, the solution here is to not put flags up...i think the 70% albanian population speaks for itself when it comes to keeping the culture alive. i believe the flag laws are idiotic in MK. if it's Macedonia then a macedonian flag will be flown, none other, or if there is another flag, the macedonian flag must be flown alongside it. that's how many other countries do it including here in the U.S.

Në rrjedhe e sipër janë punët rreth ndërtimit të shetitores praën Lumit në Tetovë.Puna e filluar që para 3 javëve tash ma ka filluar t’i jep formë këtij projekti me cka pjesët anash lumit,reflektojnë pamjen e një shetitorjeje e cila ka qenë ëndër e kahmotshme për qytetarët e Tetovës.

Projekti në fjalë kushton 700 mijë euro ndërkohë që në kuadër të të njejtit është paraparë edhe rregullimi i shtratit të lumit Shkumbin. Rregullimi i shtratit të lumit do të bëhet në gjatësi prej 1,596 metrash. “Rregullimi do të bëhet nga rruga industria deri te Mulliri i vjetër në Çarshinë e Epërme, bëjnë të ditur nga Komuna e Tetovës” deklaron Valmir Aziri,zëdhënës në Komunën e Tetovës.

Ai me tej ka sqaruar se do të rregullohen muret anësore të lumit me qëllim që të kenë kapacitet për të përballuar edhe sasitë më të mëdhaa të ujit të lumit të cilat janë karakteristike në periudha të caktuara.

Shetitorja e shumëpritur e këtij qyteti dhe në këtë pjesë të vendit do të ketë të gjitha elementet e nevojshme si ndriçim publik, ulëse përkatëse dhe shumë elemente të tjera që kanë të bëjnë me pamjen e mirëfilltë të një .

Sipas Azirit, ky projekt pritet të përfundojë në afat prej dy muajve sepse nuk e kzistojnë pengesa pronësoro juridike të cilat do ta kishin ngadalësuar dhe penguar realizimin në teren.

Përndryshe,qytetarët e të gjitha moshave e kanë përshendetur këtë investim të Komunës së Tetovës .Kjo sidomos për faktin që shetitorja do të zhvendoset nga qendra e qytetit ku nuk kishte as kushte për tu quajtur shetitore,do të kalojë në pjesën më të bukur të qytetit,pranë lumit Shkumbin.
