shame they demolished most of it after the war, and even a bigger shame they demolished the surrounding buildings, they could have at least saved the facades.

Why this church was not reconstructed ? I see not total ruins on old foto .
Church in old time 9/10 but I dont like ruins - 5/10 Total 7/10 |

Great that they didn't just rebuild it, but created something new together with the old part (which is not only a great landmark but also a perfect memorial) of it. 9/10 for one of the most important churches in Berlin. Also the inside of the new church is very impressive.
