Here's a rendering of the entry submitted by CAZA that shows a bird's-eye-view of the lot and somewhat accurately depicts the surrounding area.

How can this be feasible when we all know Global City is very near NAIA? Unless the people handling this project knew anything about NAIA's projected move. Gramercy, which is farther away, was chopped down because of the building height restriction.

Beats me. Metrobank Financial Center just a few blocks away already stands at 318 meters.

It stands next to the Metrobank Financial Center, which at 318 meters tall (66 stories) is currently the tallest building in the Philippines. The Grand Hyatt Hotel, with 461 guest rooms, occupies the top 25 floors of the building.

What about Philippine realty prospects? Alfred Ty said: “Real estate developers, not only us at Federal Land, are excited about Philippine economic growth and with more modern designs that we’re using. By 2017, we will be opening the Grand Hyatt Hotel at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City as our contribution to the expected rapid growth in Philippine tourism.” Grand Hyatt Manila will be housed in the top 25 floors of the soon-to-be-iconic Metrobank Financial Center, the tallest building in the Philippines at 318 meters. Business leader George S. K. Ty’s new showcase project features 461 luxurious guestrooms, including 52 grand suites.

Do we really have a 300 meter plus building? I thought our tallest is the PBCom which stands at 259m. Sometimes, foreign news are not that precise, like the news that Isnilon Hapilon is a UP graduate when in fact he is a high school drop out.

It was all over the news since last year and again on the news as lately as last month and Grand Hyatt itself also announced it.

Here's the design team's explanation on why it needs to become taller than its surroundings, including Metrobank Financial Center:

I do not doubt their ambition but did they take into account the presence of NAIA? Otherwise it's just going to be a dream.
