WUHAN | Fanhai Centre | +600m | +2000ft | Pro

699m according to some sources, still preliminary though. But I think it's time to open a thread since we even have a developer.

Why do you comment the looks of an obviously concept design?

438m refers to the twin towers.

A large opening inside the tower is not rational, although beautiful.

Looks alot like a stretched index tower i like it. and it got alot going on not just straight facade right over entrance and repeat until top.

You see this High speed rail map? Wuhan is smack right in the middle of it with many lines crossing it. Wuhan is a very important High speed rail maintenance/repair depot and pilot city for China's Optics Valley.. Not to mention the population is 11 million + so it's a big city by itself already. once the 8+8 HSR Grid is finished?, it will be more clear, since it's about almost equal distance to JJJ, PRD, YRD mega-regions.

straight from PRC Gov. webiste

"As the biggest water, land and air transportation hub in inland China, Wuhan has long been well known as a “throughfare to nine provinces ”. With an equidistance of 1000 km away from other major Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and xi’an, Wuhan stands out as China’s geo-economic “heart” and plays a role of linking east and west, connecting north and south and serving all directions. The unique geographical advantage gives the edge to Wuhan’s exceptional advantage in transportation."

Man, what's with the hating on the split tower design? I think it's extremely distinctive and elegant, and would be a great compliment to the Greenland Center.

Apparently this is a second design option. Don't know if it's still under consideration:

You can't tell me you'd rather have that, an uninspired glass box.

All concept. They are just disccusing the masterplan itself (land use and height distribution mostly).
