A San Antonio-based developer is planning a skyscraper in downtown Austin that would soar 850 feet high which, if built, would make it the city’s tallest building.

The tower as currently designed has 62 stories, although ultimately there could be more, possibly up to the “mid-70s” range, Lynd said.

This could actually very well become Texas tallest building if it becomes 70+ stories tall.

The current tallest building in Texas is in Houston which stands at 75 stories with a height at 1,002 ft.

According to below diagram this tower is about ~873 feet tall. We could expect Austin to pass Oklahoma City, Minneapolis, Detroit, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Mobile, Miami, Boston, Pittsburgh, and Jersey City with this one.

Duh. The conversion math is pretty simple. Americans do it every day.

The glass will likely be clear or low iron with Viracon VRE coating. This is good news since this tower will stand out as Austin already has alot of blue glass towers.

A San Antonio based-developer... um build it in SA... ha.. you can tell with this particular thread the height-queens are out and proud.. there is nothing exciting about this building what-so-ever.. looks like two giant convention center hotels stacked on top of each other...that giant podium too... dreadful!
