TEHRAN | Abbas Abad Hills Development and Book Garden | U/C

the abbas-abad hills are/were an empty set of lots located in the mid-north section of tehran. since the 70s, several plans were drawn to create a large business district.

however after the revolution, and nearly two decades of hold, the area underwent construction but instead for a large set of parks, government and cultural facilities
one of the older buildings in the area is the new-tehran national library

the main park is the ab-o atash park , the nature bridge that connects the two sides of the park which is divided by a high-way
the national library, the new book garden, the center of iranian archives, haghani metro station, the defense museum, a set of cultural buildings and observatory, cafes and restaurant etc

each section is opening bit by bit

recently constructed and completed "book garden", a large book store (they claim largest in the world) targeted primarily towards children and young adults to encourage them in the lines of science, literature and creativity. it has a series of cafes, play areas, stores etc

the project has been going on for several years
