I never liked the official green colour, it's the only shade which I ditched in favour of my own. It resembles paint which had not experienced touch ups for decades.

Top: My version of green and LTA's blue.
Bottom: The official green and y2koh's blue.

Colours that look distinct on screen does not look as distinct in real life. However, what is not reflected in your bitmaps are the difference in texture (such as the reflections and small 3-D details) seen in real life.

Meaning: What you see is not what you get. It may look good in real-life but not on screen, and vice-versa.

Not to mention the lighting effect and glare. I do get that, Joey.

A simple little GIF. How I wish LTA will capitalize one-north.

Yes, I am well aware the background is green, but I could not figure out the correct shade.

I actually prefer it in black. Makes the text more legible.

The Changi Airport people mover uses a black background with yellow text, and the wordings are very crisp and clear, not to mention that it looks very modern and minimalist as well.

Not really relevant to the ongoing discussion, but something I could like to share anyway.

Found this diagram in an old book about the construction of the original MRT system at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library. I photocopied the page at the library and then had it scanned into my computer just now.

If anyone was ever curious about the alignment of the tunnels between City Hall and Raffles Place, this should answer all your questions.

p.s. I can't remember the exact title of the book; it was something along the lines of "The MRT Conference 1987" or similar, and was a rather large grey hardcover book with a blank spine.

There's an animated version in the Land transport Gallery in 3D on one of those displays, looks similar.

Really don't think this will happen. More likely to alternate flashing SMRT and SBST screens.

I agree. if it is going to be a common screen, they are not going to use either SMRT or SBST's template anyway.
