Thank you. I was just about to post couple photos, too. As a minor clarification, these and Jape's are from Espoo bus terminal level and the
long-distance bus terminal level. The proper shopping center opens next year.

You enter the buses via these sliding gates, which are opened before the bus departments. It's bit like at airport --> one gate for each bus.

In the bus terminal, there are cafes, few stores and fast-food restaurants

Entrance to Kamppi's metro station from Espoo bus terminal level

It's not that special, but for a BUS TERMINAL I think it's ok

Airport City West End office building project in Aviapolis has gotten new website with fresh renders. PC posted link to Talo. Thanks, mate!

all pictures copyright (c) ABB Current Oy

This 64.000m2 / 49.000m2 project (no one seems to agree on the exact floor space) will be built between 2006-2010. Tallest building will be 15 story midrise.

Heh, I myself find the infrastructure development in Aviapolis more interesting and far more important.

from Talo again

Keski-Pasila with the planned 26 story Forum Virium building by sdes (design is purely his imagination)

And how the Forum Virium building without Keski-Pasila would look like from downtown, also by sdes.

The study on the use of APGM (^Automated People and Goods Mover) is finnished now and according to the results Aviapolis would be a perfect place for the automatic taxi system. The cost of this system in Aviapolis is estimated around 35,5 million € and funding will be applied from the EU. At first it would include a 3,5 km long route with 15 taxis and 7 stops/stations, mostly aroung the airport and the tecnology center Technopolis Helsinki-Vantaa. Later it would extended all over the Aviapolis area. From the picture above the one to the right is the model that will be built as it protects the system best for the weather.

edit:
If the EU gives Aviapolis the needed funding (10 million) then the system would be operational in 2008. Othervice funding has to be raised from other sources.

Now, we only need the Ring Railroad and Northern Metro . Seriously, APGM system is what the area badly needs for sustainable development, unless they want every one there to use private cars.

With the help of the list at pilvenpiirtajat.net and updated info from Talo, here's a quick rundown of all high-rise projects in the metropolitan area. Residentials in italics

HELSINKI
26-story Cirrus
26-story Forum Virium in Pasila
5x Keski-Pasila high-rises, max 22 stories

ESPOO
20-story Espoon Keskus tower
20-story Leppävaara residential
18-story Kivenlahti residential

17-story Fortum II
16-story Panorama Tower
3x 16-story Tapiola towers

VANTAA
17-story Kielotorni
15-story Sirius I
15-story Sirius II
15-story ABB Airport City West End
15-story Jumbo Park, Vantaa
15-story Unnamed Aviapolis high-rise
14-story Jumbo Extension

I'm so definitely missing something.

The best thing about Forum Virium is that they may start the construction pretty soon, too, as the vice mayor what-his-name said that the project is planned partly to function as a catalyte for the whole area. Moreover, since the center will start its operations already next autumn, we will definitely see some form of construction there very soon.

@Ober: Panorama is, btw, 17 floors tall. *nit-picking*

Sorry for this spam, but there can be few mistakes on that list.
Moolio, Emporis and Pilvenpiirtaja.net says, that Panorama tower is 16 floors.
Also Pilvenpiirtaja.net says that Jumbo Extension is 16 floors, not 14.
So someone must have wrong information. :P

There is a technical room on the 17th story. Same thing with Cirrus, with technical floor it's 27.

Yeah the official height is 16, it's actually the tallest one of the Vantaanportti-towers. I asked mr. Timo Stenius from Eläke-Fennia about the project and the plans are ready, but it will most likely not go u/c in at least a year or so as there's so much sypply of office space atm...

Also the official height of Jumbo Park is 13, it's wrongfully mentioned as a 15-story hotel in many articles. But the floors 1-3 will according to the drawings be of same height as 2 of the floors 4-13. So considering it's height it could aswell be 16 stories. Also it will have 2 underground floors, which in some places might even be partly above the ground level, and one top floor with tecnical things. So it could actually be either 13, 14, 15 or 16 floors.

so what was my point?
-in the end the number of floors depends just on how you want to look at it.

Exactly. In fact, Panorama, for instance, will be as tall as 19-storey building, as there are 17 floors plus an extension of the height of two extra floors. That, I guess, explains why the building will be several meters taller than Itämerentori. Can't wait to hear more about the Fabutorni near Panorama. Apparently it should be just as tall. Leppävaara is going to look great then. I recently drove past the Sello mall, and it already look fabulous with the 10-storey (?) hotel.

One more thing for those who don't know yet; Kalasatama area will include a new 18-storey hotel (information courtesy of -late, thanks man!).

According to this:

the towers are only 12 stories high..

As it's been said here already, even with the official info, the number of floors is not so evident. This is due to all the technical floors etc. Sometimes people even count the underground floors.

And in this render you can for certain spot at least 14 stories for certain, maybe one more that's not visible + the technical floor (?) at the top. Much of the stuff is conjecture, I agree.

When it comes to measuring the height by meters, it's not much better, as some sources mean with meter height "meters over the sea level", but they don't say that.
