Suburban New Orleans Condo Tower Coming
Not sure if this has been mentioned with photos, but here is a link to a new, highrise condo tower planned for suburban Slidell, to the North of New Orleans on Lake Pontchartrain. From the tower to Downtown New Orleans is about 25 miles and the skyline of New Orleans can be seen from the condos. Construction is expected to begin in the last quarter of 2005. The tower will contain over 1,000,000 square feet. http://www.northshoremarinatower.com/

The tower looks very '80's beach condo' to me, but it is great that it is coming to the metro hopefully more people will follow.

I think it looks like a 60's residential building in Eastern Europe.

I do know that the developer is from Miami...this developer is not local as the developers of the Plaza Tower Downtown are from the area. Apparently he develops condo towers in Miami...I can't remember his name.

I agree, it does looks a bit dated. Better than nothing though.

The tower will be 250 feet (not bad for suburban Slidell), and prices will start at $350,000...not bad, IMO. I think this project will be a great success with more towers to come in this area. From what I'm hearing, they've already sold over half, so that's positive.

Well for Slidell anything is a start! I would like to see more areas outside Orleans Parish be dense.
