Thanks Tony, I was not aware of the 1913 Exhibition until a couple of days ago. It seems there has been 3 big Liverpool exhibitions, the 1886 International at Botanic Road, 1887 Jubilee exhibition at the same site and this 1913. I need to do some more research on these.

Shocking to think of, considering what came next, the scale of Liverpool ambitions back then. Big fuck off expo's! Like Shanghai today.

But Liverpool is going to Shangers. On the uptick now.

Just stumbled across this thread. By far the best on the Liverpool Forums!! Its sickening to look at some of the buildings that we have lost eitehr to the bombers or planners.

Tony, I had a similar problem with Kat's, but I copied the image properties and pasted it into the address bar. It was a bit long. Try this instead: http://tinyurl.com/d89zaz

The 1886 exhibition was held in Wavertree, btw.

Ranelagh Street looks amazing. My house was built in 1886 not that far from Edge Lane, so strange theres nothing left and no reference anywhere in our museums?!

You could always comment on the Old Liverpool pics people (Me) are posting on your new Liverpool downtown thread Tony..

I appreciate 200 lurkers or so having a blimp in the last few hours, a comment or two would be nice though mate for all the effort....

Ged...... you know I love most of your pics. I used to praise them and thank you prefusely when you first contrinuted pictures, but as I said after many, many posts stating my awe, it becomes repetative saying the same thing and giving the same praise?

I did write at the time that I was going to stop posting thanks or praise in response to the ones I like, as there are just too many, but I also wrote that this did not mean I was no longer grateful for you putting them up.
