Only the coastal fringe of Australia has the larger population mass, as about 200 km or 120 miles inland it becomes semi-desert. The further inland you go the access to permanent water supply becomes more difficult.. Australia is largely inhospitable desert and that's why Australia's population is so small (compared to Vietnam).

Australia is also a fairly 'new' country. The indigenous population was never all that large while settlement in Australia in significant numbers only begun in the 1840s.

Sydney should be the best. Opera House and Harbour Bridge, two iconic world buildings.

what countries are in "AustralAsia?"
I'm not really familiar with the "geo-term"..

Poor pacific island countries.. they are being ignored..
coz if you don't.. Honolulu might pop in the list.

I think Hawaii would be counted as part of North America.

Oceania is a region though (or United Nations geoscheme), not a continent.

Thread is basically just Australian and New Zealand city skylines, as the majority of countries in Australasia are very small and quite poor.

Hawaii is part of Oceania, not North America. Oceania is the equivalent of a continent which includes Australia, and all the Polynesian, Melanesian, and Micronesian islands. Honolulu SHOULD be a candidate for this thread. In fact, I have been lobbying for months for the title of this thread to be changed to Oceania, instead of Australasia.
