IMO the fact that Sydney has so many more high rises therefore creating more density kind of gives this city the edge in the skyline stakes however Melbourne's skyline from certain angels especially from Williamstown looking at the city is quite impressive. I'd give Melbourne as 2nd place followed by Brisbane.
Gold Coast skyline is too much in a 'straight line' for my liking although Q1 really improves it immensely. |

it´s easy, this one is really easy
1. sydney (densest) 2. melbourne (tallest and more elegant but no so dense) 3. brisbane (nice, emerging skyline) 4. perth (tall buildings, low density) 5. gold coast (nice tall buildings, sparced skyline) 6. adelaide (dense skyline but no tall buildings) 7. canberra, townsville, sunshine coast, wollongong, central coast (emerging skylines) |

1. Sydney (without a doubt) 2. Melbourne (Loved it as well) 3. Perth (got some cool buildings) 4. Gold Coast (he didn't go there but I find it nice from other pics.) 5. Brisbane

If you ask me, one of the best things Melbourne has about it's skyline, is balance, and proportionality:
![]() Consider these two buildings. They are tall, but certainly not the tallest here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Melbourne doesn't have a Harbour, on par with Sydney, but you can find reflections ... ![]() ![]() What Melbourne has is a generous street layout- thanks to Hoddle- and the foresight of sundry unrecognized urban planners who determined that those towers were going to be set back from the street. |

The Gold Coast's skyline is the best, IMO; the Q1 Tower is absolutely breathtaking.

Sydney has consistently been named among the top cities in the world to live. Its skyline looks pretty nice especially with the bridge and water setting :
