This building is looking good... but is it necessary to have a huge spire just to beat the Aon and John Hancock in Chicago(which are Chicago's 2nd and 3rd tallest) a mere feet?

One thing's for sure, that's a fast riser. Such a transparent building, it's easy to imagine what it'll look once finished now, just looking at the structure. Like a vertical display cabinet - beautiful.

new york buildings always have a steel core - no concrete one.

someone on wired ny said they had seen some other white sheeting around the lower two floors which is probably for the fitting of the delicate facade.

How soon before we get a more distant view? I'd like to see just where on Manhattan this building will be placed. Not vertically, but horizontally.
