I can only claim Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore, and arguably Brisbane. But I have to ask: what's so exciting about travelling underground? You don't see anything except the inside of the carriage.

So far, only four cities I have visited that include underground systems:-

London (Since mid-80s to present) – Well, you know! Huge network. Classic. Chaos. It's amazing to see this huge network of Tube is running in well order.

Paris (1989, 2005 & 2006) – Nice, classic but smaller network than London because of shorter distances between stations as well as Paris is smaller than size of Greater London but higher population than Greater London.

Amsterdam (2004) – Just a one-way trip on surface light-railway train from outer suburbs of Amsterdam towards City Centre from ground surface into underground line. When I'm into the tunnels, all I saw the walls of the tunnels were covered in lots of white/sliver graffiti, but not the stations, only in the tunnels between the stations.

Stuttgart (2006) – Nice, clean and modern. The stations are HUGE! Brand new trains. To my surprised, the bicycles are allowed to be carry into underground and in trains.

If Sheffield, UK, which is similar to Stuggart in terms of population & physical geography etc, want to have "S-bahn" then I doubt that Sheffield could afford to built a type of "S-bahn" especially with underground tunnels in central Sheffield. Too expensive. Of course, I know that Sheffield have tram system. I'm talking about cost, that's all. I think Stuttgart have some underground stations rebuilt / built in around 1970s which is why they are looking nice and modern yet huge.

That's all. If anyone of you only had been to a few underground's compared to other people who has been to lots of underground's all over the world, I tell you, there's no need to be ashamed of it. Be yourself. I don't care that I only have been to four underground's.

And by the way, do you know that, Birmingham, the second's largest city in the United Kingdom, does not have underground? Odd.

San Francisco's BART system just got more expensive. Base fare went up 25 cents from $1.50 to $1.75 and all fares are between 10 and 45 cents higher than they were.

But yes, it's expensive. My rides to and from summer camp are worth $32 dollars on discount fare and would be $64 in regular fare. That's for 4 weeks total. AC Transit would give me an unlimited local pass for $15! Big savings, but BART is much more relaxing. Good thing no one there had a sudden idea to buy vehicles with seats on pedestals!
