I'm adding Copenhagen to my list. Fully automated system, but too much minimalist and standardised stations that can be easily mistaken for each other.

1. Praha
2. Warszawa
3. Stockholm
4. Oslo
5. Berlin
6. Paris
7. Copenhagen

I have been in Copenhagen at least 20 times since the 1970's and still I have never used their metro. It's not very usefull for tourists. The only station in the centre is Kongens Nytorv and the destinations are only east/west.

Usually the commutertrains are much more convienient, they are faster and more accesable as they all stop at the central station.

It's easy to reach the main sights by foot like the City Hall and the Royal Castle.

If the metro connects to the central station, Copenhagen will be much more mentioned in this thread.

It depends, what you're interested in. Most people here are modern architecture freaks and they won't miss Ørestad, when they're in Copenhagen.

The City Circle Line will stop at both the central station, Town Hall Square, Christiansborg/Gammel Strand, Kongens Nytorv and The Marble Church so it will serve more of the downtown area than the current lines does.

Impressive list!

1: Antwerp (not a real metro system but underground lightrail)
2: Amsterdam
3: Barcelona
4: Brussels
5: London
6: Paris
7: Rome

Off all I found Rome's metro was the most dirty, Paris the most busy and London the most complicated.

Amsterdam metro was empty, especially compaired with a city of same size like Brussels.

Are the rules only "underground"?

If so....my list:

1. San Francisco
2. Los Angeles
3. Chicago
4. Baltimore
5. Washington D.C.
6. New York City
7. Boston
8. Atlanta
9. London
10. Johannesburg (Gautrain technically is underground for part of it's route).
11. Buenos Aires
13. Tokyo
14. Fukuoka

However, I have been on many many LRT and Commuter Systems. At least another 40 systems.

My updated list:

London
Lille
Paris
Singapore
Hong Kong
Barcelona
Rome
Bangkok

I've also been on suburban trains that run underground in:

Liverpool
Sydney
Melbourne

..and on trams that run underground in Dusseldorf.

I've also been to these cities without going on their metro systems, invariably because somebody else has been organising my transportation:

Glasgow
Montreal
Toronto
Washington DC
Berlin
Seville

My list is a little bit better than last time I did this but still rather weak...

London, UK
Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, UK
Brussels, BE
Charleroi, BE (pre-metro)
Cologne, DE (stadtbahn)
Paris, FR
Lille, FR
Turin, IT
Milan, IT
Amsterdam, NL

Also,

Liverpool, UK (underground suburban rail)

Additionally I've done underground parts of the DLR, Thameslink and Overground in London, the 'undercroft' part of the Manchester Metrolink at Piccadilly, the Paris RER and the Brussels pre-metro.

micro has a very impressive list there, but I will point out that Dublin doesn't have an underground. Yet.
