I love what the building will become but everytime i go to see it, Its always in shadow and the bulk of it is so massive, it really looks so oppressive and sinister. Im sure a glass facade will do away with it.

Thanks NY Girl. I noticed it takes about two weeks to see anything significant.
That is why I don't snap photos more often.

Bank of America is one huge site. It is really going to add something significant to the Bryant Park area.

Already wired up with WIFI, this wonderful park is surrounded by such landmarks as the W.R. Grace Tower, Grand Central, Chrysler, Verizon, Condé Nast and now Bank of America Towers.

Those developers are really building up 42nd Street in such a massive way - I just love it!

Thanks for the feedback!

I just love the view from the park.
The style will fit right in as the Bryant Park area is so full of energy.

I wonder if this shiny new tower might have some public spaces inside or perhaps some nice restaurants with window views overlooking the park.

I will be visiting New York for my first time this month and I am really excited. For a skyscraper enthusiast it will be quite refreshing compared to my own city.

Cool. The best way to see the city is to avoid the tourist traps.

Just walk and see everything.

You will absolutely love it.

Oh and if you have time, take the subway to Coney Island (you will thank me) which is about 45 minutes from Midtown Manhattan.

The first drop on the Cyclone is a pure adrenaline rush! That's where it happens!

Indyman, how many days will you stay in the city

I hope you bring your camera and share your photos with us!

Well I wont be staying in New York for very long. I'm there to see a play on Broadway and I'll be in the city tops. After that we are heading to Philly to stay for about a week. Lol not my choice but its not like this is my own vacation being 16 makes it difficult to decide where to go.

You might need a week for NY, but not for Philly.
Philly's skyline is no where as vast as NY's.

There is only one observation deck in Philly - City Hall Tower.
It's only open during the week, so get there sometime after 9:30 AM.

As for New York, Observation Deck at the top of the Empire State Building and the G.E. Building (A.K.A. 30 Rock) - across the street from Radio City Music Hall.

Take the subway, the A train to the first stop in Brooklyn (High Street), then walk back to Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge (you will thank me, you really will).

While in NY, take the free Staten Island Ferry to Staten Island, then back to Manhattan (you will thank me, so I will say ahead of time, "You're welcome").

There are a few good restaurants in "Center City" Philadelphia (with that "New York" impression) directly across from City Hall on South Penn Square (both sides of South Broad Street).

Thank you very much, you've been helpful. Have you lived in New York your whole life then? I'm assuming your a resident provided your knowledge of the city.
