Roppongi Hills Tower
Gross Floor Area 380,105m2 Height 238m
cf.Sears Tower,Chicago
Gross Floor Area 416,000m2 Height 442m
Bank of China,Hong Kong
Gross Floor Area 135,000m2 Height 367m

on April 26, Roppongi Hills Tower celebrated its opening.
According to newspaper of that day, construction cost is 2.2 billion US dollars (a tower only) and 3.9 billion (whole complex)and the floor space of the tower is large enough to park a B747 on the top of it !!!!!!

I love this so much, however, many Tokyoites dislike it because Japanese are fond of boxy buildings.

I just love this scraper! Its definately the best Tokyo has to offer! Really massive but not too unpriportionate for its size.. The facade blends in well with the glass too and the shape is really cool! Well done KPF!

"Fatness" can be impressive also and it can give a city a metropolitan expression (or emphasize its metropolitan expression) in the same way that very high buildings do.

Because of that: an 8
