What's up with the 30-years old design ??? :-(
I really hope they can come up with something better than that if it's really going to get built at that height...

Wow, just when we thought it was all Dubai, Miami enters the race! A tower that tall is always good news but the render looks pretty ordinary. As far as world tallest residentials go it comes in third I think.

Unnamed Tower - Dubai - ?400m (Approved)
23 Marina - Dubai - 380m (UC)
Empire Tower 1 - Miami - 365m (Proposed)

Dubai-Lover (or whoever) can you point me in the direction of the thread for that 111 storey monster - I've been plowing through the Dubai forum trying to find it but theres just so many towers.

I'm glad someone wants to build this high but the design is ugly. I would like to see something a little less bland and less montrous looking but still tall 1000+ft. It needs to look more "Miami" and less Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, etc.

Great news. Miami needs it. I'm sure they'll do something better with the designs.

I reckon - it's a select group of cities in the 350m club - only 8 at the moment.
Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Chicago, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, New York, Dubai.

And it'll also ecourage me to watch CSI Miami more often

I think its awesome for miami, but the design is not that great.
question: How are hurricanes going to effect the structure?

The design is way to boring and old.

Empire has bit of a resemblance to the Azrieli Center in Tel Aviv, the way it's got a round tower and a rectangular tower next to each other (OK the rectangular tower of Azrieli Centre is actually triangular but it looks rectangular in this photo )
