Yes Opium, spot on. If you want to be infected with HIV, hepatitis and every other STD under the sun, you may as well have paid an affordable price for it.

I just booked a trip to dubai, because I always wanted to visit it. but after reading this thread I kinda got a few doubts...it seems there are a few restrictions there (gee, no one at the car rental told me I need a special permit do drive a car in dubai...)
I do have a few questions about dubai and the U.A.E. in general: - is it safe to travel on your own (by car), is it safe to walk around the cities at night? - are there things that you shouldn't do (I don't want to offend anybody), like nude sunbathing or making pictures of things or people? - what about the night life? are there places where you can go and have fun like you would do in europe or america? |

-Dubai claims to be, and imo is, the safest city in the world.
so yes it is. -don't kiss in public -don't take photos of local women, at least not directy in front of them - don't get drunk and run around in the streets. -nightclubs, just look in the first post, there are some nightclubs listed. |

If you're looking for Europe and America, go to Europe and America. Otherwise, avoid public display of affection, dress modestly, respect local customs, practices to avoid offending the local people. Of course, you'll have to read up on them first.

not really. It's only frowned upon. The only time you'll get arrested is if you're being a complete idiot. If you're cooperative, and come across the cops, the cops will help you get a cab or whatever to get you home and off the streets.

As the Burj Dubai gets taller i need to go again to Dubai.
I think April 2007 would be okay. The Burj Dubai should be around 150floors high by then. <------ I am sure this will be impressive for me ![]() Here is my problem: MONEY !!! Is it cheaper to fligh from Frankfurt to Abu Dhabi and taking a bus to Dubai? I can`t believe that there are no small, cheap hotels in Dubai. I just need a bed and a shower. |
