Lisbon's Metro is definitely my favorite system (or at least tied with Montreal). The public art is amazing, and everywhere (Parque is phenomenal). I still can't get over the idea that there are fare gates now. My concern is, considering the ongoing budget woes in Portugal and the engineering fiasco that the T. de Paco station became, will any of the extensions that are not yet currently in construction ever really be built? That implies questions such as, will Alcantara ever have metro service? Portela (the airport)? The only construction going on now is the (truly needed) crosstown extension of the Red Line to and the Blue Line extension to Santa Apolonia rail station. But I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for much more very soon.

Perhaps they should buy some air conditioned cars instead? ;-)

the onli problem until now was onli the extention to Santa Apolonia and specialy T. Paco station (blue line) but the problem with the tunel is now solve and the line it wil be open next yeare, the airport (Portela) and Alcantara are the next projects, now they are make the extention of red line to C. Ourique, a very populated area.

The new stations and lineas are really beautiful. They must now improve some of the oldest stations who looks dark...

is trew there is 5 or 6 old dark stations and some are now in renovation (Roma and Alavalade) but I herd that they have plans to rebuilt that stations soon!!

Yeah, I know, but all of them are in the green line...
Arroios, Areeiro, Roma and Alvalade have been recovering because they are too short, not allowing 6 carriages trains...
