No, it's not a joke. Your pics actually prove that Dubai is not that dense. Chicago, especially the Loop is by far denser. I guess you have to look up some Chicago pics before further judgement. In general, Dubai needs a lot of improvement to beat Chicago.

well said. There are lots of sour grapes by HK forumers regarding Dubai ever since Burj Khalifa topped off.

Its also blending very well with other supertall & nightimes shots looks very peaceful.

Dubai has clearly made Hong Kong its bunny now & HKs glittering skyline no longer looks as attractive as Dubai's "skyscraper oasis in the desert"

dubai's density, size, height & sheer varieity at the top with different designs & crowns can never ever be matched by any other city besides NYC.

clearly. Dubai skyline is the most futuristic in the world currently.

dubai skyline is deliberately underrated because of intense dislike towards arab culture & middle east.

my point. Put dubai skyline on bank of river thames & you'll get "oohs" & "aahs" from everyone & also little lecture on how "London is more futuristic than NYC skyline"

also notice. none of HK towers are iconic enough to be compared to Empire state Bulding or Chrysler building. Dubai has two. Burj Al Arab hotel & now Burj Khalifa.

I'm glad for you guys that you like Dubai so much, but I stand by my previous statement that Dubai has still a way to go to catch up to the top 4. Just a look at those fugly and gaudy Dubai Marina towers makes me shiver.

Each to their own, but lol. Dubai's 'density' more intense than Chicago? 9 for surroundings? - (I mean, if a desert and palm tree shaped islands tickle your pickle, fair enough). Building diversity... let's not go there.

Your ranking methodology isn't very coherent. For some cities, diversity, surroundings and density seem not to matter. Moscow and Mumbai ahead of Vancouver, Sydney, Melbourne, and Seattle?
