agreed, I found there are many tall and good looking skyscrapers in this relatively young city.

might not be at the same level as NY, Shanghai or HK just yet, but Toronto will definitely be there very quickly.

Even the suggestion would have been scoffed at 10 years ago. Now you can visualize it happening one day. Toronto still has tons of work to do, but it's going to be a drastically different city when the dust settles. The skyline is the most visible change, but Toronto is changing on every level conceivable.

While we're on Toronto, I think in a couple of years it'll be solidly at the #5 spot for me, if it isn't already come to think of it. There is still a pretty large gap between Chicago, NY, HK, Shanghai, and basically everyone else as it stands right now in my opinion. Moving forward though, who knows. If Toronto's boom can continue, and it gets at least a couple of 1000+ footers plus this never ending stream of 100 meter to 250 meter buildings, then maybe it breaks into that top tier in three to five years, depending on how the others develop.

Any ideas on when we get the next poll on this subject? January 1st maybe?

Thanks to NewYorkDominates on SSP for finding the first, and NYGuy on SSP for finding the second.

Agree, a lot depends on the boom continuing. It's 6 years strong and keeps on chugging. Even Toronto booster seem to be bracing for the expected slowdown, but the proposals keep coming.

They announced 7 200m+ buildings in the last week alone. There's a 3 building theatre district complex designed by Gehry that's to house a museum and gallery. Then today, a massive 4 tower casino complex next to the CN Tower was proposed.

Spot on. Toronto is turning into a skyscraper canyon. There is still a huge gap between it, and the top 4, but it is about to pass Singapore, the 6th spot. With that said, there are some cities that are coming around which could become competition for it, such as Shenzhen. It currently has a 600m building under construction, which will give Shenzhen's massive skyline a center-point, and the Pingan building is absolutely gorgeous, and should look incredible. Shenzen has 7 supertalls under construction and approved, it has 8 supertalls proposed, and 27 200m-299m buildings proposed, approved, and UC.

This brings us to Toronto's major flaw, it doesn't have any buildings over 297m. It doesn't have any proposals for this type of building either. For this reason, I expect Shenzen to take the 5th spot, and Toronto to pass Tokyo, and stay at 6. If Toronto can get a few supertalls, I could see it moving to the 5th spot though.

Here are some pictures of future Shenzen

Amazing pictures of Shenzhen!

Which are the established top 4 then?

Hong Kong, New York City, Shanghai and Dubai?

Do you believe Shenzhen's skyline has already surpassed Guangzhou's?

you never know what will hppen in future.
In Mumbai there are 175 towers (many missing) above 50 floors in various stages either u/c, approved or proposed. Not to mention countless towers between 20-40 floors.
Refer following link for the list
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...82638&page=388

The list is missing many and every week you will find few projects above 50 floors (>200 meters) proposed. Lets hope for the best.
