Guys, remember now that biggest and best are two different things, biggest is objective because it's based on actual numbers. Best is strictly subjective because it's based on opinion and personal taste. For instance, Miami has the third biggest skyline in the U.S. behind New York and Chicago based on the sheer number of tall buildings that are counted as tall buildings, but very few would certainly call it the best.

They know, but that's what the discussion was about.

I thought we had a thread for 2025 skylines. We do! It's called Best Skylines by 2025. That's where your comments should go. Here, they are off topic.

I think that Shenzhen should be discussed, because it already is one of the tallest skylines in the world, and with supertalls and megatalls popping up in the dozens, that's definitely justification. NYC will always be my favorite as well, but I'm willing to acknowledge the awestricken effects of other skylines on me as well.

We most certainly can discuss Shenzhen here, but if you are going to be making 2025 projections, then there is a 2025 thread. That's all I'm saying.

Thanks, but it's not that big a deal. Just trying to keep things more orderly.

New York has such a wide variety of architectural styles in skyscrapers that it has amassed over one hundred years that this is what makes it best in my book.

He posts over 100 times a day now. A month ago he didn't have 10,000 posts.

Anyway guys! New York set the standard by which all other skylines are measured. New York and Chicago had iconic skylines well before anybody else did and I continue to like the architecture better than a lot of the newer architectural forms I see. Shenzhen may very well end up with the largest skyline in the world one day, but I honestly don't care for a lot of the architecture there.
