When i go HK, I dont feel I am in China. I know HK under China legally but they have the freedom. You got different passport stamp in entering HK and China. HK never represent China including in international events. To me HK is different country from China!
Please show some respect .. Whether HK is part of China should not be judged by your personal feelings ... how would you feel if I said to you 'To me, Singapore is just a city in Malaysia' ??

For those who still don't understand, it's pretty simple --- We (mainland China) are responsible for HK's defence and foreign affairs, while HK retains certain degree of autonomy in other matters.

What respect? I am just telling you that I feel HK is different from major chinese cities that I visited. Its like visiting Macao when there are many Portuguese signage and 30-40+ casinos, does it feel like in major China cities? I knew HK is under China but I just let you know my experience and the view I had on HK. In what way I insult you people???

For Malaysia and Singapore, its totally different country not even one country two system so I see no link here. What I see here Singapore and Hong Kong are in the world presence of being city state and Hong Kong are presenting themselves more as a city state rather than as a China

I'd hate to fuel a pointless argument, but in answer to WingWing's question about Hong Kong's exact status, I feel this video explains it adequately:

Just because Austrians speak German, it doesn't make it part of Germany. Saying 'I visited Austria and it feels like a part of Germany' would be highly offensive.

Hong Kong is a special part of China, it has a different culture because it was ruled by Britain for several years. Your feelings should not be expressed publicly, because it's false and offensive. Hong Kong is as part of China as Guangzhou

Everyone knows that HK is part of China.

But we all also know that it is autonomous.. unlike/different from other Chinese provinces..

-from wiki
Quote:
"One Country, Two Systems", also officially translated as "One China, Two Systems", [1] is a constitutional principle formulated by Deng Xiaoping, the Paramount Leader of the People's Republic of China (PRC), for the reunification of China during the early 1980s. He suggested that there would be only one China, but distinct Chinese regions such as Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan could retain their own capitalist economic and political systems, while the rest of China uses the socialist system.

Hongkong is in China... end of story..
can we move on now..

I went to Olvera in Los Angeles. Man, I felt like I was in Mexico.

1. New York 38,220
2. Chicago 17,252
3. Toronto 9,472
4. Miami 5,042
5. Houston 4,997
6. Los Angeles 3,834
7. Atlanta 3,597
8. Mexico City 3,578
9. San Francisco 3,440
10. Las Vegas 2,916

Or you mean the top 5? Mexico City has many skyscrapers under construction, and 3 other projects are +300 m. Also USA not have the problem of earthquakes as Mexico City or Tokyo, watch this video happened yesterday, all our buildings have technology anti-seismic...

The East Coast cities are not far above Mexico City, then Los Angeles and San Francisco are "dark horse" of North America, in this angle image are 5 buildings U/C with +230 m... win 1,200 points in about 5 years.

And of course not, the earthquakes in these cities are small, yesterday was a 6.7 earthquake and two weeks ago 7.5 degrees on the Richter (Powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake strikes Mexico City).

It's totally offensive to start a political discussion here! So stop your offensive comments! Whether mainland Chinese have the freedom should not be judged here! Stop your prejudice and just turn back to the topic!

This is my last reply for u

That i dont start any political discussiom. I Knew HK Under China but HK often represent themselves internationally as HK or HK China rather than China. What freedom I am talking here is the choice to have autonomy and out of interfere from Central Govt in setting up the system in the country. This is because one country two system, HK on own system while the other big cities followed the other system.

And what I see here HK being given a choice to represent themselves by the Central govt. Having own flag, own athletes, etc to represent themselves to the world under China.

And for my goodness sake u love to use exclamation marks!
