I think that rating system is the stupidest thing i've ever seen. A "best skyline" is someones opinion, the height or number of buildings really means nothing.

based on "someone's opinion"

EXACTLY!!!!

and for some.. HEIGHT and NUMBER means SOMETHING.
you contradict yourself by saying it "means nothing".

and FYI - I think most of the people here are "aware" that the list's (above) main criteria are height and quantity..
So I believe it is fair to say, that the list is credible in determining what skyline is the BEST based on this 2 CRITERIA.

of course there could be other criteria.. visual impact, quality, layering etc...
that is why there are other existing lists...
any list is welcome for discussion... You could EVEN MAKE ONE YOURSELF. And I promise, I won't call it stupid.

maybe you'd like Luigi Di Serio's Top skylines better.. coz it is based on someone's "opinion", therefore it is not stupid.

We all know that biggest doesn't equate to best. 'Stupid' is not understanding what a quantitative analysis is.

And Toronto must continue building at the same rapid pace just to maintain its position going forward. Toronto will likely reel a few skylines in over the next 5-7 years, but get passed by some others. Data from last year shows that construction picked up in 2014 after a slight slow down in 2013 so things look promising. Perhaps Toronto can move up to 12th-13th largest, but beyond that will be tough.

that list is a good basis for a more cohesive and consistent best skyline list. but that doesnt mean you have to follow this exact list. throw in your personal taste but at least consider height and quantity as criteria coz these are really important.

Will those 'pods' in Singapore eventually be covered in living, growing plants to provide a 'tree' canopy? They're very cool.

The whole purpose of the thread is discussion on what constitutes a good skyline. The only thing sad is that you have nothing better to do than make absurd statements about people who are on topic on one thread on one internet site.

You're way out of line.
