But the ratio of aesthetically pleasing skyscrapers to total skyscrapers is low.
With that being said HK should be ranked lower, and chicago should be on top.
Watch out for Dubai.
In the next ten years.....It's gonna be the clear winner.
Also watch out for guangzhou and moscow in the future.
What????????????????????
Dude i disagree with you. Imho,Hong Kong and NYC are numbers 1 and 2, i always switch them around. Chicago is third. HOW can you call Chicago no boxy?????? More than NYC. IN YOUR opinion, the ratio is low, in mine its high. I have nothing to worry about with Dubai, at all, whatsoever. Guangzhou is nice, but doesn't compare with HK, NY, or even Chicago. Moscow is ok, nothing speacial enough to be in my top 10 though. Maybe itll be better though

Ok look at the top picture MD guy (BTW I'm an MD guy too!)
Don't tell me that most of those sky scrapers in that picture are not box shaped.
Some have little alterations, but other than that they are mostly box shaped.
HK, Is better than NY but Chicago tops for me. Atleast in terms of aesthetics.
Maybe with the addition of the WTC in NY chicago might feel threatened but...it also has replied to the WTCs. Chicago spire, soon to become the tallest in US and the Western world, and trump tower's cladding and location is unbeatable.
Anyways, the race for # 1 will be won by dubai in a few years.

haha hey fellow Fredericktonian (you never responded in my Frederick thread btw!!)
Anyway, im not saying New York isn't Boxy, im saying Chicago is more boxy, therefore, to me your reasoning for not liking New York doesn't make sense, is all im saying, of course New York is boxy.

And there is too little height in both cities with Buenos Aires having the advantage to have the tallest buildings on the shore which makes the skyline looking taller than it is. And from streetlevel, Sao Paulo has not a good skyline, Buenos Aires neither...
First of all, the definition of "skyline" has nothing to do with height, but more importantly, both Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires have height enough to be ranked 26th. and 46th. respectively among The World's Best Skylines.

That's exactly one reason for not even mentioning them here. They're not even in the top 10, being among the world's biggest cities!

The mere fact that despite their size they're not among the top ten does not make them any less worthy to be among the world's best skylines. Is Paris (41st.) "chopped liver" simply because it's not among the elite top ten?

Paris is not of the World's skylines. NO European city! Or would you compare Paris with NYC, Shanghai, Hong Kong or Dubai or Chicago??? NO WAY! And also Buenos Aires, Bogotá or Sao Paulo have a huge amount of buildings. But they are not as many (at least not the ones >100m) and as tall as the ones in NYC, HK, or Shangahi or Seoul. Thus not comparable. If the question was "which city has the biggest concrete jungle effect" then I would consider them here also, right behind Tokyo, Mexico City, Seoul, NYC and Shanghai!

Should we see Dubai as a big skyline (e.g. when seen from the sea) or split it into three seperated skyline and name one of this sklines

1) main SZR cluster

2) the old creek skyline

3) Dubai Marina + JLT + DMC!

that we like the most in Dubai?

Are you able to accept other people's opinions that do not match with yours? And please stop trying to persuade me. Thank you!
