lol, the lighting is the one which makes hong kong's skyline so popular. calling it cheap is pretty far-fetched imo.

Height isn't AS important a factor - as Singapore continues to show (and, for me at least, Dubai proves the opposite).

That proposal to build that close to 300m tower on the TST waterfront - it's got height and will definitely make an impact, but will it make a GOOD impact?

I don't see a tower that close to the water, with everything else that surrounds it being minute in comparison, making a good impact on the skyline.

Now if they'd have built that same tower in CWB, for instance...
i agree! i really wish that the NWC will make a good impact, i mean it just has to due to such a promiment location.

I agree as well. It is not the height that makes the difference, it is the relative height of a tower in comparison to other towers surrounding it that makes the real impact.

For example, a cluster of some 150+ and a few 300+ will be more visually impacting than a cluster full of 300+ as for the former there is a comparison between the skyscraper to show the height difference.

Once the NYC complex and the other supertall project are complete my list will be like this

1. NYC (+1)
2. HK (-1)
3. Chicago (+1 from my old list)
4. Shanghai (-1 from my old list)
5. Tokyo

Shanghai went down a little bit, I just came back from Shanghai last month and I realized I like Chicago's more. Though Shanghai is still building many buildings so it will probably go up to #2 in like 5-10 years.

After Tokyo I have various cities that I am still confused about so I won't even make a list of them yet.

Sure in your opinion. Not mine. I don't really care about you or others criticising my opinion with nasty comments so it doesn't matter to me.

Anyway I thought about it.

1. NYC (after completion of WTC)
2. HK
3. Chicago
4. Shanghai
5. Tokyo
6. Singapore
7. Toronto
8. Guangzhou
9. Shenzhen
10. Seoul

I think most of SO143's comment are very childish and ignorant and can be disregarded...

I don't have any skyline I particularly like. To be honest, after you look at them for a while, they would all look the same.

BTW Tokyo SkyTree is finally completed, it's the 2nd tallest structure in the world after Burj Dubai. Too bad it is placed so far away from Shinjuku and the other skylines (for example in the 2 pictures below you can't even see Tokyo's real skyline). Anyway I can't wait until they remove the cranes and light it up at night.

Someone needs to retake this picture now that it's done. It's a good angle to see Tokyo + SkyTree

Why can't you post flickr photos the way just like anybody else? Is it that difficult to understand the illustrations shown in that video in my sticky?
