Hava Nagila (From the Sefaradi Balkans)
Hello Israel!
This is a version of Hava Nagila by Silvija Zaradzic. She is a Jewish singer from Bosnia-Herzegovina, though she lived in Canada for most of her 20s. Please listen to this Sefaradi (Sephardic) version of Hava Nagila and tell me what you think. I added a picture of the bridge in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the city where she is from (I believe). http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=uru |

^ I call it Sefaradi because she is a Sefard, and the band uses traditional Sefaradi instruments from this region.
There is no "Hava Nagila" in Bosnian Sefaradi culture, so just by doing this song, you could say it is Ashkenazi. ![]() But that's half the reason I show it, this weird, interesting mix.
