Well lets see. The center of the Civil RIghts movement, Dr Kings birthplace, world busiest airport, Coca Cola headquarters, Some of the most successful hip hop and R&B artists of the last decade, CNN, hosted the Olympics. Need I go on?

Boston, Philly, and San Francisco are infinitely more important and significantly more world class on every level than ATL, Detroit, Houston and Vegas. A majority of ATL is ghetto, it's simply true. ATL is culturally dead for it's size and is little more than a hodge podge of crappy architecture and terrible urban sprawl. Sure there are a few very nice scrapers but the traffic, lifestyle and standard of living is terrible - one of the worst cities to live in the country. Detroit is a dying cesspool, what once was the richest (per capita) city on the planet has lost everything. It's only a matter of time before Detroit is completely and utterly irrelevant. Houston? Are you kidding me? Fort Wayne Indiana has as more cultural relevance (only a slight exaggeration). Houston is ugly. It's a Fn UGLY city. Ask anyone that's not from Houston that has TRAVELED. Houston is FUGLY. Seattle, Minneapolis and Denver blows ATL, Detroit, Dallas, Miami and Houston AWAY. These are amazing, clean cities full of culture and beauty everywhere with strong diverse economies. Population, big airports and fortune 500's HQs DO NOT make a city world class. Go out and check the criteria. Last edited by SpraysOnBlue; November 4th, 2012 at 07:28 AM. |

Other than the airport there is not one single thing on this list that would make ATL world class. There isn't even one single thing on this list that would make a single human even want to move there.

Culture? Big time! Did you know only New York City has more performing arts capacities than Houston? Plus great Museums, arts and a great artists scene. Not to mention, Houston has the second most consulates in the US, great diversity and huge economy. Those facts you mentioned above sure do have anything to do with making a City world class, but there are indeed other criteria. |

YAWN
There are few fans of any city who spend more time worrying about what other people think of theirs than Atlanta, GA boosters. Like, love, disparage or disgust, "world class" is a matter of opinion.
For most people, especially in the Southeast, Georgians incessant bloviation about Atlanta is tiresome and desperate. Last edited by UrbanMyth; November 4th, 2012 at 05:31 PM. |

No, no! Somebody else needs to go out and check the criteria with a post like this!
