I hate those Caltavra towers, they look nice but I'm not sure they look appropriate for a building. I think these towers in a few years will look ugly and outdated, that's the problem with real futuristic designs, they look cool at first but later they don't look as good, like when you buy clothes that are very trendy but later on you can't wear them anymore, because they just look like out of season. But, for all the other projects they are amazing.

Today Calatrava visited the works of his newest building, the "Palau de les Arts" (Opera) that would be oficially open next October 8th.

Valencia is really lovely city. New constructions by Calatrava are so futuristic and give such a bright look to the city. Great work. In fact photos can not get the real beauty of those marvel pieces of art.

They should change the name of this city to Calatracia or something like that, because it's actually turning to his Plaground without anything except all his experimental structures....

...they look good nontheless..

I know that Valencia has some of the finest architecture in the Mediterreanen, and I must say, that building is BEAUTIFUL! It is unique in every way... I don't have time to read the whole thread, but the pictures are all I need

Well......amazed . I had no idea that Valencia in Spain is *THE* place to watch .What a brilliant array of designs and all in the same place .Seemingly none of them confront or clash with each other . I wouldn't say a uniform look or feel is being developed( a possible danger with such use of one architect ) but the designs I've seen all work together so well .It is all fresh , clean , futuristic , daring and well-planned ......from this distance anyway .

I would however strike a note of caution . Though I find the buildings and plans beautiful and awe-inspiring , the danger here is that such a concentration of new designs brings the possible danger of looking like a theme park .

Palau de les Arts was inaugurated last October 8th, it becomes the biggest scenic theatre/opera in Europe with 40,000 m2, 75 metrs high and a cost of 250 million euros (304 million dolars). Some pics by Spanish forumers Potajillo, Patraix and Rifeny:
