Joze Plecnik (1872-1957) is Slovenia's best-known architect of all time. His works have left a strong imprint on Vienna and Prague, but modern Ljubljana was really shaped by him in many respects. Some examples from LJU:

Genex Tower
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Genex Tower

Genex Tower, a 35 floor skyscraper in Belgrade (Serbia), which was designed in 1980 by Mihajlo Mitrovic in brutalist style. It is formed by two towers connected with revolving restaurant at the top. Its height is 115 meters and is current tallest highrise in Belgrade.

One of the towers is occupied by Genex Group. The tower got its popular name after Genex even though its official name is Western City Gate. It was chosen to build a highrise gate so it can greet people arriving via Belgrade Airport from where Genex is easily seeable.

The second, taller tower, is used for residential purposes.

In the cirrcular top there is a rotating restaurant.

The building is located in Novi Beograd municipallity.

Actually, I doubt that Plecnik would be the best Slovene arhitect. Barely any non-slovene architecture oriented book mentions him.

I believe the best (whatever best is supposed to mean?) Slovene architect would be Max Fabiani, who is also known worldwide and not only in Slovenia and two-three other places like Plecnik.

These are some of his works:

Virtual Museum of Jože Plečnik

Jože Plečnik suppose to be the greatest Slovenian architect but there are several important architects too, as Ravnikar, Fabiani...e.t.c.
However... here is (almost) complete list of Plečnik's work in Slovenia: http://www.burger.si/Plecnik/uvod.html. This Virtual Museum (not only Virtual Museum as a web site;wrong term of Virtual museum; but with the Virtual Reality) will extend also to Plečnik's work to Vienna and Prague.

Well in Serbia, Plecnik is certainly the most famous Slovene architect. This is his only work in Serbia. The seat of Belgrade's catholic "nadbiskupija".

Personally, I think that Dragisa Brasovan (1887-1965) was the greatest Serbian architect.

Sokolana in Zrenjanin

Drzavna stamparija, 1931 Belgrade

Komanda ratnog vazduhoplovsta, 1935 Belgrade-Zemun

Dunavska banovina, 1936 Novi Sad

Hungary had many talented architects in the past, so I will only cover a living architect: Imre Makovecz.

He pretty much defined Hungarian architecture during the 70s, 80s, 90s, although less so today. IMO few other postmodernist architects could match his works.

His website [English, Hungarian]: http://www.makovecz.hu/main.html

The website includes most of his work, and some of his sketches.

Some of his works:

Hungarian Pavilion for Seville world EXPO:

Hungarian Theatre in Lendva, Slovenia

But what Imre Makovecz especially good in is ribbed ceilings.

Lithuania

I guess the most famous one would be Laurynas Stuoka Gucevičius (1753-1798). He was one of the more influencial architects of those times. Among his most famous works were reconstructions of Vilnius cathedral, Vilnius Town hall and Verkiai palace (destroyed). He also organized and led the uprising in Vilnius region against the partitions of Pol-Lith' commonwealth.

Verkiai palace

And there's also Daniel Liebeskind and Massimilliano Fuksas, who both are descendants of Litvaks (lithuanian jews)

What's with all the old structures? You don't have any architects that design anything new?

Kyiv's most famous architect is Sergei Babushkin. He is also the most hated by nimbys and conservative pussies.

Some of his works:

Reconstruction of Independence Square:

Parus office centre, 34 floors:

Tabachnyk cultural centre:

And this project, which never saw the light of day, 67 floors:

To see many other architects of Kyiv, go here.
