SEVILLA - Estadio OlÝmpico / La Cartuja (57,619)

This stadium was built to host the World Championships in Athletics of 1999

Seville is here,

and the stadium 2 kms from the city,

and Seville┤s Football Club Stadium and at far on the left the Olimpic Stadium,

I doubt Seville is copying a stadium which isnt even built and wasnt even thought of at the time of its completion....I would sa the later.

Same architects, so that's why there are similarities.

The Real name for this stadium is Estadio de la Catuja but is an olimpic stadium and its called always olimpic stadium here in the city because Seville was one of the cities to host the Olimpic Games in 2004, the Final Davis Cup 2004 and the IAAF in 1999 but we hosted the last one. Now is used for concerts, football match, exhibitions and others. I dont think this stadium has copied any other because this one was built before the new Peineta Madrid Stadium. By the way all my support for,

MADRID 2012!!!!!!!!

I don┤t think they should call it an olympic stadium since it never hosted olympic games.

The stadium capacity is over 60.000. It was thought that the large window which is looking to the city could be a new stand with 10.000 new seats.

So the stadium is prepared to host 70.000 spectators.

The seating is a long way from the action. It's an ok stadium, but not great.

Bla bla bla bla bla.. People talking bad things about this stadium. Maybe because they would love to have this stadium or similar in their cities.
