Oh baby... well this erased every doubt in my mind. Bangkok's taking all the #1's away from Hong Kong as soon as it opens!!!

Sorry to rain on your parade, but IMHO I don't see that happening. For one, the waiting rooms are not carpeted and the chairs are not upholstered if I see that picture right - cold atmosphere, not cozy, no bonus points from passengers. (By the way, not only Hong Kong but Singapore is also carpeted throughout and Seoul has wooden floors, both cozier than tiles.) Further, Hong Kong has actually planned space for shops after security/passport control. In Suvarnabhumi the shops are squeezed-stuffed-squashed into Concourse D (the long transverse behind the main terminal building) which also has to accommodate waiting rooms. Less circulation space, a more crowded feeling, no bonus points from passengers. (By the way, the original plans by Jahn saw large shopping plazas at both four-way concourse intersections - who chopped them out and why?)

point taken...

these are the pictures taken when none of the interior work has begun...
i believe there will be more additions to the terminal over the next few months...
many of the deco are just there temporarily for the test flight day... i believe there will be more changes coming up...

in another word, all that you see is completed terminal building construction works but none of the interior work has actually begun.
